On December 15, SIGNIS JAPAN held a
small ceremony to commemorate the late Sr. Maria Joseph Shoko Shirai on her 10th year after her departure to Heaven. She was a FSP (Daughters of St. Paul) sister who devoted herself to the social communication, especially, films and audio visual productions, of the Church. The ceremony started with the prayer by SIGNIS JAPAN advisory priest, Fr. Peter Masahide Haresaku, followed by the readings of the messages from Mr. Augustin Loorthusamy, President, SIGNIS World, Mr. Lawrence John, President, SIGNIS Asia and Fr. Jerry Martinson, S.J. , Taiwan. A certificate of “Appreciation” was presented to the late Sr. Shoko by Mr. Shigeki Chiba, President of JIGNIS JAPAN. Many said that they were deeply inspired by her during her life here on earth, including while taking an office of the President, OCIC, Japan.
